How to book

On your regular trash and recycling day. Set items out by 7am.

You need an appointment.

Fill out the Household Hazardous / Electronic Waste pick-up request before noon the business day before your trash day. A confirmation email comes within 2 to 3 days with your date, which can be up to two weeks out.

• Up to 12 HHW and 12 e-waste pickups per calendar year
• One request of each type per week
• HHW: up to 2 boxes, each no larger than 20 x 20 x 20 inches
• 5 gallons or 50 pounds per box; a 5-gallon bucket can replace one box
• Containers larger than 5 gallons not accepted
• Up to 2 car batteries
• Flammable liquids in plastic jugs: 1 gallon or less
• E-waste: up to 2 boxes, 50 pounds each; one TV or monitor per pickup

Do not bring chemicals to McKinney's service center; it is not licensed for drop-off. Computer and TV makers also run free take-back programs.

Good to know

Label every container, or write the brand and contents on it in marker. Mark boxes "HHW" or "E-Waste". Set them at your trash collection point at least 3 feet from your carts. Containers are not returned. Gasoline and diesel must be in an approved no-spill container; put oil filters in a sealed bag.
