Lucas Door-Side Hazardous Waste Pickup (CWD)
Lucas residents can have paint, chemicals, motor oil, car batteries, fluorescent tubes and flat-screen TVs picked up at the door twice a year. Call CWD two weeks ahead for a kit. The cost is part of the base trash rate.

How to book
On set pickup days listed on CWD's 2026 Lucas calendar.
You need an appointment.
Call CWD at 972-392-9300, option 2, at least two weeks ahead. CWD mails you a kit. Set it out by 7am on your pickup day.
What they take
- Old paint
- Stains, thinners and solvents
- Aerosol cans
- Motor oil
- Car batteries
- Fluorescent bulbs and tubes
- TVs, computers and electronics
In their words: poison, solvent, oil-based and latex paint, aerosols, used motor oil, auto batteries, fluorescent tubes, flat screen televisions (no CRTs).

Good to know
Use only the bag CWD mails you and close it tight. Do not put pool chemicals in the bag. Put electronics, car batteries and fluorescent tubes in a cardboard box next to it. Set it where the driver can see it from the road, away from your trash carts.
